Jade de Lafleur is a Louisiana-native whose passion for music started at 5 years old. It was then that her mother, a soloist with the local church choir, introduced Jade to the music of Whitney Houston. Eventually Jade would join the youth choir herself, where she also became a soloist. The singer/songwriter’s experimental mix of R&B, Jazz, Pop and psychedelic funk are on full display in her music, which she co-writes and produces.

Jade’s first release was a critically acclaimed 9 song EP in 2014, entitled Jaded -
with the title track being included on Solange’s 2013 compilation album “Saint Heron”.

Jaded featured “Smoking In My Car,” a song co-written with master songwriter James Fauntleroy. She received her first big break when the title track was featured on Solange’s 2013 compilation album, Saint Heron. The LP featured a host of then burgeoning talent including Jhene Aiko, Cassie and Kelela.

Centric named Jade one of “14 R&B Artists You Need to Know In 2014”.

She has been praised and supported by such media outlets as Complex, VIBE, Billboard, Essence,CMJ, and Noisey. Jade also toured/performed with Solange and the Hadley street Dreams for 3 years internationally.

While writing this album, I was in a place where I had to let alot of things go. Some were easier to let go than others and usually when I need to level up, I dance.

Crafting a sound that she describes as “psychoPOP,” Jade’s personal growth is reflected throughout her debut studio album “The Green Horse”, which is best described as powerful, provocative and unfiltered; An upbeat fusion of psychedelic funk, pop and R&B which challenges society’s standard of POP and expose' of black.
